The Girls club was formed in 2009 by Paul Ward & Gareth Powell with the aim of giving girls the
opportunity to play football no matter what standard they currently play at.
Paul is manager of the u16s and a qualified FA Level 2 coach also currently taking his Uefa (B)
Coaching badge, Paul also holds all the relevant child protection and first aid qualifications
and is CRB checked.
Gareth is a qualified FA Coach and also holds a qualification for coaching disability football. Gareth
also coaches the under 12s, who are managed by Maz Farrington.
The aim for the club this year is to establish the new girls academy for ages between 5-9 years.
This will start in the summer of 2009, and will run every week throughout the season.
We currently already have a small number of players and are looking to grow as the season goes on.
Training takes place at the Caterpillar Sports Ground in Desford. All our coaches hold a minimum
FA level 1 coaching badge, are 1st aid trained and have been CRB checked and cleared. For further information
please contact any of the committee members who will be more than happy to help. The club, players,
coaching staff, parents and all other club associates support Fair Play to whoever is involved
in the game.
